Man repainting side of green carriage

Are you interested in joining the Newport Railway Museum team?

Volunteers are the lifeblood of our museum. We have a great team of friendly people, and we really enjoy what we do.

There are a range of roles at the museum for which special skills or rail knowledge are not required, and training is provided on the job. These roles include:
• selling tickets, books, and other items in our shop
• helping tend to the grounds with tasks such as gardening and light maintenance
• assisting our visitors as guides
• assisting with administration and office work.

A list of current opportunities for volunteers can be found on our page on the SEEK Volunteer site.

Child Safe policy

Newport Railway Museum is a Child Safe organisation. We require all volunteers to have or obtain a Working With Children check and we adhere to Child Safe practices in our policies and procedures. The safety and welfare of children and young people attending our museum, either as visitors or volunteers, is our highest priority. We have zero tolerance for any form of abusive behaviour.
