First type of suburban electric carriage running on the Victorian Railways, modified from an older type of locomotive hauled carriage.
Originally constructed in May 1888 as 9 ADAD, modified in 1909 to add an extra 12\' (3.6m) of length, and modified again in 1923 to fit the General Electric motors and control equipment.
Retired from service in June 1967.
Open for public inspection periodically during all open days.
